Amateur defeats professional to win a new GT640 in CES game-off

February 8th, 2010

Eighteen year old, Tyler Bruhn, didn’t come to the 2010 International CES to make his mark in the gaming world, it just ended up happening that way.

Passing by the MSI exhibit, the Carlsbad high school senior decided to go head-to-head with a professional gamer of three years, Jordan Gilbert, who had been playing the game of choice (Counter-Strike) for 11 years.  Having won the “eSports Player of the Year” award for North America in 2008 and 2009, Jordan was confident in his abilities and was challenging passer-bys to out-shoot him in this popular terrorist vs. counter-terrorist game.  Yet, Tyler emerged the victor and walked away from the booth with a free MSI GT640 gaming computer, and the below photo which he touts proudly. (Tyler is the one on the right, with the winning smile)

Just goes to show that any gamer can be a champion if they arm themselves with a MSI Gaming Notebook – the GT640 is shown below.  Congratulations, Tyler!
