Kyzyl “Kyza” Saleem
Khyzyl Saleem, a 3D Artist, teamed up with LA car photographer Larry Chen to digitally recreate the Ebisu Minami track and an iconic shot of driver Daigo Saito.
Khyzyl Saleem, also known as ‘The Kyza,’ is a UK-based Concept Artist who has made an extraordinary mark on the automotive CGI world with his designs and renders. He is now designing real-world machines for OEM special projects around the world.
“I got into cars from a young age. Kinda helped and guided by my parents.”
Saleem recalls, reflecting on his journey. "Kinda helped and guided by my parents. They’d collect car magazines for me, and I’d cut them up and make my own collections of cars I thought were cool." When approached by the renowned LA-based car photographer Larry Chen with a mission to recreate the legendary Ebisu Minami track and the iconic image of professional driver Daigo Saito in mid-air, Saleem couldn't resist. Their collaborative vision extended to incorporating Larry's cherished 1970 Datsun 240z into the vivid 3D landscape.
Geographical distance posed a hurdle as Khyzyl is based in the United Kingdom. Additionally, Khyzyl’s previous experiences with laptops proved to be limiting, as he had never possessed a device capable of handling rendering tasks or simultaneous rendering and modeling. These obstacles emphasized the critical need for a powerful laptop to overcome workflow obstacles and facilitate seamless cross-continental collaboration. Khyzyl turned to the MSI Raider GE78 HX as the ultimate solution.
“I haven’t ever really had a laptop that I can properly work off. My previous laptops either refused to render flat-out or performed rendering and modeling at the same time. The MSI Raider GE78 HX is the life-changer.”
Khyzyl initiated the project utilizing industry-standard software such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Chaos Corona Renderer, and Adobe Suite. The MSI Raider GE 78 HX, boasting NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4090 and Intel Core™ i9 processor (14th Gen), significantly expedited the workflow, enabling him to work efficiently on the go while simultaneously managing resource-intensive rendering tasks. Central to the project's success was the accurate recreation of the Ebisu track environment. With the capabilities of the Raider, Khyzyl effortlessly took advantage of the AI features of Adobe Photoshop, ensuring the smooth integration of details of the Ebisu Minami.
“It was an absolute blast! It was my first time properly using Photoshop's AI tools integrated into the workflow, haha. Lots of fun!”
The decision to go with the Raider GE78 HX was instrumental in driving the success of Larry Chen and Khyzyl Saleem’s collaboration; they achieved coherent collaboration and efficient workflow management, resulting in remarkable outcomes. Larry’s 240z, with its custom body kit and lifelike weathering effects, exuded authenticity and character, perfectly reflecting the meticulous attention to detail evident in digitally visualizing the Ebisu Minami track.
