MSI USB-C Docking Station Gen 2 supports exclusive features 1. One Click Away, 2. PXE Wake-on-LAN (WoL), and 3. Mac Address Pass Through.

To use these features on supported models, refer to the instructions below.

1. One Click Away

Long press the power button of MSI USB-C Docking Station Gen 2 to power on the MSI Laptop system, or long press again with the power button from the docking station gen 2 entering Modern Standby, Sleep, Hibernate mode when the system powers on.

System Requirements:

a. MSI Laptop with Intel 11th Gen Processor or newer generation with the latest BIOS version listed on the MSI Website.

b. MSI Laptop with the USB type-C/PD port. For details, refer to [Product Information] USB Type-C Port

 

2. PXE Wake-on-LAN (WoL)

Wake-on-LAN (WoL) allows the laptop to be turned on or awakened remotely from Hibernation while the laptop connects to the AC Adaptor.

*Note: Some models that support Modern Standby do not support WoL.

System Requirements:

a. MSI Laptop with Intel 11th Gen Processor or newer generation with the latest BIOS version listed on the MSI Website.

b. Manually install and ensure that the latest Realtek USB LAN Driver listed on Realtek's Website is properly installed/updated on the system.

 

3. Mac Address Pass Through

The Mac Address Pass Through uses a system-unique MAC address entered in BIOS (the Basic Input/Output System), which overrides the docking MAC address whenever it's connected to the network, fulfilling the Business & IT management demand.

System Requirements:

a. MSI Laptop with Intel 11th Gen Processor or newer generation with the latest BIOS version listed on the MSI Website.

b. Manually install and ensure that the latest Realtek USB LAN Driver listed on Realtek's Website is properly installed/updated on the system.
