When there is an Intel or AMD graphics driver published on Windows Update, the generic driver downloaded from Intel or AMD website may be rolled back to an older version released on the MSI website.



*The OEM customized graphics driver published on Windows Update is the recommended version with higher stability and higher priority. If experiencing any issues after installing the graphics drivers released on Intel or AMD website, it's recommended to roll back to the OEM customized driver released on the MSI website.



Below methods helps to keep the latest generic driver in use and not gets rolling back to the older version through Windows Update.



*Note: Disconnect the internet before performing the following steps.



Method A: Edit Group Policy/Registry Editor



*Note: This method will stop all drivers update via Windows Update.



(Windows Professional Version)



    1. Open "Edit group policy".



       



    2. Access "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" setting by entering the path (Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Manage updates offered from Windows Update).



       



    3. Double-click "Do not include drivers with Windows Updates" and select "Enabled" option. Then click on "Apply" and "OK".



       



    4. Wants to enable the drivers to update automatically by Windows Update. Follow the above step and select "Not Configured/Disabled". 



(Windows Home Version)



    1. Open "Registry Editor".



       



    2. Type "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" in the path.



       



    3. Right-click and select "New" , then select "DWORD (32-bit) Value".



       



    4. Rename "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate".



      



    5. Double-click "ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate" and set Value data to "1".



 



       



    6. Please restart the laptop to make the Registry edit value take effect.



 



    7. Wants to enable the drivers to update automatically by WIndows Update, follow the above step and set Value data to "0".



 



Method B: Use "Roll Back Driver" in Device Manager.



*Note. The driver will be updated again in one month.



    1. Open Device Manager.



    2. Double-click on the Graphics (Intel or AMD) under "Display adapters".



    3. Select "Roll Back Driver" under "Driver" tab.
