MSI received the highest Net Promoter Score of any laptop brand
City of Industry, CA - March, 2018 – MSI
, a world leader in gaming hardware, has received PCMag’s 2017 Consumer Recommended Award. The company received a Net Promoter Score of 69 percent, upsetting Apple for the highest score. Apple had been the top recommended laptop brand with PCMag readers since 2012, when PCMag began tracking for this award.
With MSI’s victory over Apple, this marks the first time a Windows-based PC manufacturer has beat out Apple in this category. Additionally, MSI was given top honors in PCMag’s Reader’s Choice the past two years in a row, earning the award alongside Apple.
To calculate the Net Promoter Score, respondents are asked: “How likely is it that you would recommend this company to a friend or colleague?” They then select a number from 0 to 10; the higher the number, the more admired the company or brand – and the higher their Net Promoter Score. Respondents are then divided into three categories: Promoters (score 9 or 10), Passives (score 7 or 8) and Detractors (score 0 to 6). Finally, the final Net Promoter Score is calculated by subtracting the percentage of Detractors from the percentage of Promoters.
