If your computer needs a BIOS update, please follow the steps below to use the M-FLASH feature in the BIOS environment.
Note: If your motherboard does not have a CPU installed and supports BIOS refresh via the Flash BIOS Button, please refer to [Motherboard] How to Refresh BIOS via Flash BIOS Button?
Creating a BIOS Update USB Drive
1. Prepare a USB drive, insert it into your computer, right-click on the USB drive, and click "Format...".
Note: Formatting will erase all data on the USB drive, so please back up any important data.
2. In the "Devices and drives" section, select "FAT32" and click "Start.".
Note: If your USB drive is already formatted as FAT32, please skip this step and go directly to Step 3.
3. Go to the MSI official website, search for your motherboard model, and download the BIOS file.
For example: For MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI, click the search icon in the top right corner, enter the model name, and press "Enter" to search.
4. Find MPG Z790 EDGE WIFI, click "Download."
5. Locate the required BIOS file, click the download icon on the right to start the download.
6. Right-click the downloaded file and click "Extract All."
7. Click "Extract."
8. Copy the entire folder to the root directory of the USB drive. Once completed, the BIOS update tool is ready.
Do not place the files in any subfolders to avoid reading issues.
Update BIOS
1. During the boot screen, press the "Delete" key repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup screen, then click "M-FLASH."
2. Click "Yes" to enter the M-FLASH interface.
3. Select the BIOS update tool you just created and select the BIOS file folder.
4. Choose the BIOS file and press "Enter."
5. Select "Yes" to start the BIOS update.
Note: Do not turn off the computer, disconnect the power, or remove the USB drive during the update process.
6. After the update is complete, the computer will automatically restart. Press the "Delete" key repeatedly to enter the BIOS setup screen and confirm that the BIOS version has been updated.
