How to fix laptop malfunction or non-function?

If your USB (universal serial bus) port is not working, refer to the following contents for troubleshooting.

Initial Troubleshoot

1. First check whether there is USB interface or cable damage, as this may result in failure to use your USB device.

2. Try to insert this USB device to a computer that is working normally. If detection or normal work fails, the issue could be the USB device.

3. Prior to using some USB devices, corresponding USB device software or driver may need to be installed first. Confirm that your computer has installed the correct software or driver.

4. if you previously connected your USB device to the computer through a USB hub, remove the USB hub and directly connect the device to the computer’s USB port. If the device operates normally, the issue could be the USB hub.

Re-install the USB Root Hub driver through Device Manager

1. Find "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" in "Device Manager". Right click the "USB Root Hub". Left click "Uninstall device".

2. Click to uninstall.

3. Repeat steps 1 and 2. Uninstall all USB Root Hubs.

4. Restart the computer. After the computer has restarted, the system will automatically install the driver.If the device still fails to operate normally, continue with the next step.

Re-install the Extensive Host Controller program through Device Manager

1. Find "Universal Serial Bus Controllers" in “Device Manager". Right click the "Intel (R) USB extensible Host Controller". Left click "Uninstall device".

2. Click to uninstall.

3. Repeat Steps 1 and 2 to uninstall the entire "Intel (R) USB extensible Host Controller". Restart the computer. After the computer has restarted, the system will automatically install the driver. If the device still fails to operate normally, continue with the next step.

Update the Windows operating system.

Refer to "How to update the Windows 10 operating system". After updating Windows to the latest version, check whether the issue has been excluded.

Update BIOS

Refer to How to update BIOS. Check whether the laptop has the updated version of BIOS. If so, try to update BIOS to the latest version to check whether the malfunction has been excluded.

System recovery

If all the troubleshooting steps are complete, but the issue still persists, refer to "How to recovery the operating system?" to return the system to factory default settings. Check again to see if the issue has been excluded.
