How to Fix Slow Hard Disk Transfer Rate

The hard disk is an important part of the notebook that stores most of the notebook's data. Therefore, the transmission speed of the hard disk affects the performance of the notebook. Please refer to the methods below to fix slow hard disk transfer rate.

Upgrade Hard Drive

1. The transmission speed will drop significantly after user had used 90% of the storage capacity. It is recommended to upgrade and replace a larger capacity hard disk.

2. Due to the hardware limitations, the transmission speed of mechanical hard drives is slower than solid state drives, so users can add solid state drives or Optane memory to improve performance.

PS: Users can consult with MSI customer service to receive the specification or information regarding hard disk upgrade.

System Recovery

If user’s laptop has stored large amount of files causing hard disk performance drop and is difficult to clean and optimize, you may consider performing a System Recovery
