If there is no display when the graphics card is connected to the monitor, please check that the monitor, graphics card, and computer are working normally. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
Check the monitor
1. Check to see that the monitor’s power cord and HDMI cable are properly connected.
2. Check to see if the monitor's power is turned on.
3. Make sure the signal source setting of the monitor is correct. Using a MSI monitor as an example, if you manually select a specific signal source, the monitor will not scan other interfaces for input signals after being turned on.
Check the graphics card
1. Make sure the gold pins of the graphics card is fully inserted into the PCI-E slot. When fully inserted, you should hear a “click” from the PCI-E buckle. If there is dust or foreign matter around the PCI-E slot, please clean it up before testing the graphics card.
2. Make sure the screws on the baffle are fastened to avoid poor contact with the graphics card.
3. Make sure the graphics card power supply is plugged in correctly.
4. Make sure the video cable (ex. HDMI, Display Port) is connected to the discrete graphics card.
Check to see if the computer is working normally
1. Refer to the computer component installation manual (ex. motherboard, power supply, memory) to make sure that all parts apart from the graphics card are working normally.
2. If your computer motherboard has an Integrated Graphics Processor (IGP), please try to start up the system without a graphics card to check that the computer can start up normally.
3. Perform POST Test
- You will only need the CPU, CPU cooler, one memory stick, power supply, and monitor.
- Remove all external devices, such as: USB devices, USB flash drives, hard drives and other PCI-e devices.
- If the system normally boots up in this configuration, damages to certain hardware may cause the booting process to fail. Please try to reconnect the devices individually to identify the damaged device.
If the issue persists after the aforementioned troubleshooting being performed, then it might be a hardware issue. It is recommended to take the product to a nearby MSI service station for further testing.
