As technology advances, the tech industry has a growing responsibility to reduce its environmental impact. MSI is committed to aligning our innovations with global sustainability goals by focusing on efficient product design, eco-friendly packaging, and energy consumption optimization. Our solutions aim to empower businesses to achieve the ESG targets with ease. Here's how MSI supports global sustainability goals through environmental certifications, energy efficiency, and sustainable practices.

Building Environmentally Responsible Products

EPEAT: Building Environmentally Responsible Products

MSI integrates sustainability into every stage of the product lifecycle. From desktops and All-in-One PCs to other computing equipment, our designs prioritize environmental responsibility. This includes thoughtful material selection, energy-efficient design, and responsible end-of-life management, all evaluated according to EPEAT standards.

We are proud to offer products that meet these rigorous standards, incorporating reduced environmentally sensitive materials, enhanced recyclability, and improved energy efficiency. For more details about EPEAT and MSI’s EPEAT-registered product lines*, please visit the blog below. Stay tuned for additional EPEAT-certified models coming soon!

*Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. registers products in EPEAT. See http://www.epeat.net for registration status and tier levels by country.

Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Materials: Reducing Waste, Increasing Reusability

Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) Materials: Reducing Waste, Increasing Reusability

Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) materials are made from items that consumers recycle daily, such as aluminum, cardboard boxes, paper, and plastic bottles, such as aluminum, cardboard boxes, paper, and plastic bottles. These materials are collected through recycling programs, sorted, and repurposed into various products or packaging. By incorporating PCR materials into our products, MSI actively reduces the carbon footprint associated with manufacturing. For instance, MSI's Cubi NUC and PRO DP21 14MQG series mini-PCs feature 42.9% and 41.5% PCR materials in their construction, while the Modern Series All-in-One PCs utilize about 40% PCR materials.

FSC™-Certified Packaging: Supporting Responsible Forestry

FSC™-Certified Packaging: Supporting Responsible Forestry

At MSI, sustainability extends beyond the devices we create to include how they are packaged. We use FSC-certified materials for packaging, ensuring that paper and cardboard are sourced from responsibly managed forests. This certification guarantees the use of renewable and low-carbon materials. Every FSC-certified carton reflects MSI's commitment to reducing deforestation and minimizing the environmental footprint, promoting eco-conscious innovation and sustainable production practices.

ENERGY STAR®: Reduce Energy Waste

Energy efficiency is a cornerstone of MSI’s green computing strategy. Many MSI products, such as Cubi NUC, PRO DP21 mini-PCs, and Modern Series All-in-One PCs, are ENERGY STAR certified. These certified devices consume less power during operation and standby, lowering electricity bills and reducing operational costs. More importantly, energy efficiency contributes to decrease greenhouse gas emissions, helping to lower the impact of climate change. By choosing ENERGY STAR-certified products, users enjoy a sustainable, cost-effective solution for homes and businesses while supporting a greener planet.

Renewable Power: Driving Operations with Clean Energy

MSI recognizes the importance of green energy in combating climate change. Since 2021, MSI has installed our own solar PV, starting in Q4 2023, has also begun purchasing renewable energy. Today, at least 95% of MSI's main manufacturing facilities operate on renewable energy. By 2024, MSI expects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by over 50% compared to 2023. Furthermore, we aim to achieve an 80% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, relative to 2022 levels, as part of MSI’s commitment to a 2050 net-zero target.
