From April 10th to the 12th, MSI will support Gamers Outreach’s fundraising marathon, Gamers for Giving, which raises funds for Gamers Outreach programs.
What is Gamers Outreach?
Gamers Outreach is a charity that empowers hospitalized families through video games.
Since 2007, Gamers Outreach has worked to restore a sense of joy and normalcy in the lives of hospitalized families, as each year, millions of children receive medical care inside hospitals.
For many, the process can be scary and isolating. During hospitalization, kids lose access to friends, school, and moments that typically define childhood. Games give kids access to adventure & opportunities to socialize. Sometimes, healthcare staff even use games to assist with treatment!
One of the main programs that Gamers Outreach runs is building and providing portable kiosks called “GO Karts”, also known as Gamers Outreach Karts. Each kart costs $4,000 and is equipped with a gaming console, monitor, controllers, and games.
Money raised through Gamers for Giving will be used towards funding new GO Karts or providing a gear upgrade to an older, existing GO Kart.
What is Gamers for Giving?
Gamers for Giving is also one of the largest LAN parties in North America, held at the George Gervin GameAbove Center in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Over 1,000 participants from all around the United States attend the LAN experience, gaming together over the weekend and showcasing their custom-built PCs.
How is MSI involved?
MSI will be sponsoring the PC Build Contest by providing monitors as prizes for the top 3 winners! Participants have the chance at winning a
MAG 274QF X24,
MAG 274QPF E20, or a
MAG 275QF E20 monitor!
MSI is also providing over 140
G274QPF gaming monitors to both Gamers for Giving and Hermitcraft, a Minecraft group livestreaming from Mojang Studios in Seattle, for creators to use throughout the event!
The G274QPF is a 27” gaming monitor equipped with a Rapid IPS panel that sports a 1440p resolution, a 170Hz refresh rate, and a 1ms grey-to-grey response time, making it a great, cost-effective monitor for gamers playing fast-paced games who want to enjoy a higher quality, sharper image.
